As I wasn’t really planning to start this blog last month, I probably didn’t make pictures of all the game related stuff I’ve bought. Still, some of the new bits and bobs made it to my camera before I’ve put them in the game room.
A package straight outta Japan
I was pretty happy to find this HSS-0136 Virtua Stick for the Sega Saturn. The Japanese model is made from far superior materials compared to the poor looking European models I own. It was rather dirty as you can see on the picture, but after giving it a good rub, it was next to new.
The same box also contained some nice games that I needed to clear from my wishlist. Trash Rally has set me back a fair amount of money, but you gotta love the smell of those AES games, right? The Kirby Triple Deluxe game was a local pick-up in a second hand store. I guess I caught the shopkeeper slipping, because I picked it up for €5
Retro gaming event
During the first weekend of March I attended a local retro gaming event. Prices always tend to be a bit higher during these events but as there aren’t that many retro gaming event in Belgium, I always try to go and have a look. I was pretty happy to find a sealed copy of Yakuza 4, the awesome Folklore and some other nice fillers for the collection
A second box straight outta Japan
As I didn’t own any Famicom games, I decided to start of my collection with the game Thexder and an FC Twin console. I’d like to get me a Sharp Famicom Twin in the future though. Some other games to fill the box are Twin Goddess (Ps1) and Racing Battle C1 Grand Prix (Ps2)
Various pickups
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw a minty copy of The Great Circus Mystery whilst visiting a local fleamarket for only €10. I also got Xena for the N64 from the same seller. The Ps3 games and the Guitar Hero World Tour pack are online finds and mainly to fill up some gaps in my collection.
I just started playing Wolfenstein: The New Order on PS4 and I have to admit, it’s as good as everyone says it is. No other FPS game was able to catch my attention since the very first Medal of Honor on Ps1 and the fantastic Bioshock Infinite. The Jak & Daxter trilogy for Ps Vita is a welcome addition to my small Vita collection and will be travelling with me this summer
